History of Model Higher Secondary School

The Model Higher Secondary School was established in 1987 with just 4 rented room classes just above the present school building. There were 50 students then.

The initial years were not without taunting tasks and challenges. The school was gradually shifted to the present school campus. It is worth recalling that in the summer of 1998 the whole school building collapsed and slid down in the landslide that occurred in Lower A.G. Colony. But we’ve come a long way since then.

The first batch of class 10 matriculation was in 1996. The results were impressive. The school was upgraded to Higher Secondary level (10+2) in 2003 with Science and Arts Stream in 2004. The school has also added the Commerce stream from the year 2012.

Over the years, many students have reaped in good appreciable results not only academically but have also established successful careers in different professions.
